Former Murray State University basketball standout Isaiah Canaan has signed on to the Chicago Bulls as guard. The Bulls announced the signing Wednesday but not the details of his contract.
His agency Tweeted last week that he agreed to a two-year deal.
Canaan spent most of the past two seasons with Philadelphia. He averaged a career-high 11 points last season while shooting 36 percent from the field and just over 36 percent from long range, hitting 176 of 485 3-pointers. Canaan was one of 11 players in the NBA who made four or more 3s in at least 20 games.
In 2012, he was named to the All-American team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He led the Racers to their 15th appearance in the NCAA tournament in his junior year.
He was also named a Lou Henson All-American. The team, named after the retired coach and Division One player, consists of 25 top basketball players.
In 2013, Canaan was the first NBA draft pick from Murray State since 1996.
He graduated from Murray State in 2013.
