A former Murray High School assistant basketball coach charged with 10 counts of rape has pleaded guilty.

Kwen Dajon Trice pleaded guilty to 10 counts of third degree rape in two separate cases in Calloway County Circuit court yesterday. The plea came as part of a deal which would have Trice served up to 9 years in prison and become a lifetime registrant with the sex offender registry.

Murray Police arrested Trice last April charging him with five counts of third degree rape against an underage student, and then charged five additional counts in a separate case 10 days later.

Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Cirris Hatfield says the plea agreement was reached with the victims’ families. Trice is likely to serve four and a half years for each case to be served consecutively.

Trice’s formal sentencing is set for June 8th.  .
