Republican Danny Carroll has been elected to the Kentucky State Senate’s 2nd District Seat. Carroll secured a victory Tuesday night over Democrat Jeff Parker by over 7,000 votes.

He says he’s excited to represent his district in state government.

“I think the overall goal is to leave Frankfort not just better than I found it, but a lot better than I found it," Carroll said.

"I think our people deserve that - and just bring a better quality of life and just some renewed hope to our state.”

Carroll replaces Senator Bob Leeper, who chose not to seek re-election.

Leeper defeated Judge Jeff Hines to become McCracken County's Judge/Executive last night.
