Christian County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Marian Mason has resigned her post, effective immediately. In a release, she said her reasons are personal.

"I wish the Christian County community nothing but the best as you move forward toward a brighter, bolder future," Mason said.

Mason first took office in February last year, after then-President Carter Hendricks announced his candidacy for Hopkinsville mayor. She was among four finalists at the time, out of 14 applicants.

Most recently, Mason had been involved in a community lobbying effortto stave off potential military cuts at Fort Campbell.

Vice President of Community Affairs Yasamin Ausenbaugh will serve as interim president until Mason's successor is named. The Chamber Board of Directors plans to form a search committee; they hope to interview candidates later this month and name a new President/CEO by the end of June.
