Twilight Theatre Productions

"Santa Claus is for Real" back cover /

Every year, Charles Edward Hall dons an iconic red suit and white beard, preparing for the role he's played for the last 27 years. He is famously known as Santa to the 26 million people who've attended the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and to the readers of the book he recently co-authored, "Santa Claus is for Real." Charles talks with Kate on Sounds Good about his journey as Santa, his new book, and an upcoming performance for the Twilight Theatre's summer fundraiser.

This weekend and next offer four more opportunities for enjoying Eugene Ionesco's famed absurdist comedy play, The Bald Soprano, at Twilight Theatre at Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora. Cast members Kiersten Kellersberger, Taylor Davis, E.B. McKinney and Lane French stop by Sounds Good to act out the "Bobby Scene" and attempt to explain this snappy, fast-paced play.

A vacation highlight of our region is Twilight Theatre Productions' summer season at Kenlake State Resort Park. It opens this Friday night and features dinner and three new one-act plays by New Yorker Charles Messina, original works performed in professional production. There are Friday and Saturday night shows through August 2. Shirley T. Johnson is the sparkplug behind Twilight Theatre Productions. Her director is actor Charles Edward Hall, whose career started with Mrs Johnson and her husband Robert E. Johnson, for whom the theatre at Murray State University is named. Kate Lochte speaks with Charles Edward Hall.
