Former Tennessee Town Clerk Took At Least $2,000 for Personal Use

A West Tennessee town official has been indicted on charges of misappropriating public funds for personal use.

An audit released today by the state Comptroller shows that former Kenton, TN clerk Kelly Ann Greer misappropriated at least $2,000 of utility payments made in cash.

Tennessee Sees Increase in Suspected Fraud Reports after Reporting Website Went Live a Year Ago

The Tennessee Comptroller’s Office has seen an increase in suspected fraud reports in the past year.

Comptroller spokesperson Blake Fontenay says a year-old fraud reporting website contributed to that increase.
