At the 11th Annual Murray State University Department of History Dr. James Hammack Memorial Scholarship Banquet, author, educator, and historian Berry Craig delivered the keynote address, sharing stories of the politics and politicians who made Kentucky what it is today, as well as his remembrances of his former teacher, the late Dr. James Hammack.

At the McCracken County Public Library’s Evening Upstairs program July 19th, Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Shea Nickell presented “Vice President Alben W. Barkley: In His Own Words,” a look at the life and career of The Veep in pictures, anecdotes, and personal remembrances on the 135th anniversary of his birth in Graves County.
The Arboretum at Murray State University celebrated Arbor Day 2012 on Saturday, April 28. The event began at 10 a.m. with a presentation by Dr. Winston Dunwell, noted expert in the world of ornamental horticulture. A question-and-answer session was held following Dunwell’s remarks.
