Illinois Doctors Ask for Medical Marijuana Legalization


Nearly 250 Illinois physicians are calling on state lawmakers to legalize the use of marijuana for seriously ill patients.

Some physicians say marijuana can be a safer and more effective treatment than narcotics for patients with diseases such as cancer and HIV.

Medical Marijuana Supporters Rally in Frankfort


FRANKFORT — Saying the push for industrial help may help their cause in the future, supporters of a bill establishing a comprehensive system for medical marijuana in Kentucky rallied Wednesday in the Capitol Annex.

Senate Bill 11, known as the Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act, is sponsored by Sen. Perry Clark, D-Louisville. Clark acknowledged the struggles the bill might face in the Senate Judiciary Committee, but he said industrial hemp's momentum may help the medical marijuana cause in future legislative sessions.

Medical Marijuana Supporters to Rally in Frankfort

Advocates of legalizing marijuana for medical uses in Kentucky are rallying Wednesday afternoon  in the Capitol Annex in Frankfort.

Sen. Perry Clark, a Democrat of Louisville, has introduced Senate Bill 11 into the state Senate. If passed the bill, known as the Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act  would "establish a comprehensive system for medical marijuana in Kentucky."

State Senator Perry Clark Discusses His Bill to Legalize Medicinal Marijuana in KY

Could Kentucky be the next state to legalize medicinal use of marijuana? State Senator Perry Clark hopes so. He’s pre-filed the “Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act.” The bill is named after the late perennial gubernatorial candidate who campaigned on legalizing marijuana. Medical Marijuana Bill Stalls in Tennessee Senate

A measure to legalize medical marijuana has likely failed in the Tennessee Senate.  The Government Operations Committee voted 5 to 4 Wednesday to send the proposal sponsored by Democratic Senator Beverly Marrero to the Senate Health Committee.
