Paducah Man Arrested with 136K of Synthetic Marijuana

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a Paducah man on charges of trafficking synthetic marijuana. Feras Marj was arrested Tuesday with possession of $136,000 worth of the drug also known as Spice. 

During the search of Marj’s residence, detectives located over 2,700 bags of synthetic marijuana, a loaded handgun, and over $3,000 believed to be proceeds from drug sales. detectives determined that Marji was selling the bags of Spice at an average of $50 per bag, giving the seized synthetic marijuana a street value of approximately $136,000.

Traffic Backs Up Outside New McCracken High School

The new consolidated McCracken County High School had its first day of classes today and, as sheriff deputies expected, there was a high volume of traffic on the roads.  Six McCracken County sheriff deputies were stationed outside the school this morning dealing with traffic back-ups as more than 1,500 students arrived.  Sheriff Jon Hayden said there were officials from the Kentucky Department of Highways monitoring traffic flow and looking into alternate solutions.

Reidland Threat Actually Students Discussing Video Game

Reidland High and Middle schools are back in session today after the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department found that what was reported as a threat was actually two students discussing a video game. The department reports that yesterday afternoon detectives obtained the author’s name of a letter originally sent to The Paducah Sun with concerns about safety at Reidland High School.

Car Chase Leads to Arrest of Texas Man

A Texas man led McCracken County Sheriffs on a chase on I-24 yesterday afternoon. Deputies pursued 27-year-old Jerry Page at speeds over 100 miles-per-hour after receiving complaints of reckless driving. Kentucky State Police reported the car Page was driving was also involved in a motor-vehicle hit and run in Marshall County. Deputies reported Page’s car spun out and stopped, allowing them to arrest him. Page is now in McCracken County jail on charges of evading police, wanton endangerment, and multiple driving offenses.

Police Use a Fake Facebook Woman to Lure In a Fugitive

McCracken County Sheriff's detectives used the ruse of a fictitious woman on Facebook to lure a man wanted in three western Kentucky counties into a trap where deputies arrested him.
