Today we met two energetic boxer/terrier mix puppies on Sounds Good. Dallas (brown and white) and Fancy (black and white) are seven-week old brother and sisters who were rescued from a bad situation and are available for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. You'd never guess they came into the world in a negative way because they are both very sweet, playful and friendly. Dallas was a little more energetic in the studio, but you can hear both of them contributing to the interview.
On this month's Puppies Sound Good, we met three tiny siblings up for adoption. Nelly, Bubbles and Timmy are three 6-week-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell/Pekingese mixes that need homes, and are available at the Humane Society of Calloway County. All three puppies were very well mannered and loved being held by the staff members. Todd Hatton also gets an update from Kathy Hodge about some of the events coming up at the Humane Society.
Today we met Lil Girl, a sprightly 7-week-old border collie/basset hound mix. She was very friendly to everyone who came to greet her at the station, even the mailman! Several remarked on how pretty her paws are. Lil girl is already very well socialized, currently living with a foster family that includes children and other pets. She is also up-to-date on vaccinations and is microchipped. She and her siblings are up for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. Hear the interview from Sounds Good:
We met Dancer today, a yellow Labrador retriever mix. Last month, we meet her sister Dasher, who has since been adopted. Dancer is one of three siblings yet to be adopted. Today is her 12-week birthday. Dancer loved getting picked up and petted on by station staff. Her foster mom lives next door to kids who have done a great job socializing the litter. Dancer was a curious pup who had to stop and sniff everything on the way into the studio. Once in the studio, she sat nicely next to Kathy Hodge of the Humane Society of Calloway County.
Today we met Flo, an eight-week old border collie mix. She's all black and has long, fluffy fur. Flo was very sweet and sleepy, in Kathy Hodge's arms and in the studio, too. She and her brother and sister are all up for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. Kathy says she'll grow up to be a mid-sized dog when fully grown.
Sugar is a 10-month-old Poodle/Jack Russell Terrier mix up for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. She's mostly white with brown ears and some brown patches on her tail. Even though she's part terrier and a puppy, she was very calm and sweet at WKMS, and was eager to meet all the staff and students that wanted to see her. Upon meeting Whitney, she climbed right into her lap and loved being petted on. Sugar had one previous owner, who could no longer afford to care for her. The Humane Society is seeking a loving and forever home for Sugar.
Tom Rottinghaus of the Humane Society of Calloway County stops by Sounds Good to show us a new, full-color calendar of pets from the area, now on sale at Animal Health & Wellness, Bark Avenue, Family Fitness Center, Little Shop of Collars, Precious Paws, Lee Jewelry Artisans, Warner Veterinary Clinic, Westside Veterinary Service, and the Humane Society office. The calendars are a $10 donation to the Society. Tom also talks about some of the items in the 5th Annual Online Auction, featuring hand-crafted items, jewelry, home decor, gift certificates and more. See both of these items, and adoption information, at forthepets.org.
Puppies! Our favorite day of the month at WKMS. This time we met two seven-week-old puppies, Max and Sweet Pea, up for adoption. Max is black and Sweet Pea has brown and black coloring (kind of like a German Shepherd). These puppies are mixed-breed with features from a few different breeds. Also, they came from a litter of 15! Max and Sweet Pea were very adorable and sweet. You'll hear Max throughout the interview, watching his sister being playful. What could he be saying?
Today we met Calloway, this month's featured adoptable puppy at the Humane Society of Calloway County. Calloway is a retriever/husky mix who needs a loving home. She was very sweet and sleepy at WKMS, and a little shy making her radio debut. She's seven weeks old and is one of a litter of six. She'll be a medium to large size dog when she's fully grown. See more information about her on Petfinder.com (where she's listed as a boy!).
Meet Fairway, a boxer mix up for adoption at the Humane Society of Calloway County. He's a very friendly boy, who loved meeting and being pet by everyone at WKMS, he was very mild-mannered and had his tail wagging the entire time in the studio! His foster dad says he was found as a stray on the fairway at a local golf course. He gets along with other dogs and seems to do well with cats and kids. Fairway is approximately one year old and weighs 44 pounds. Read more about Fairway on his Petfinder page.
