Campus Lights

Matt Markgraf, WKMS

Murray State's Campus Lights continues their tradition of musical theatre at the start of the Spring semester with the musical adaptation of "Hairspray." On Sounds Good, Austin Carter is joined by cast and crew members Malcolm Jones, Makenzie Kauffman, Emily Duff and Chris Lossie to talk about their experience putting on a production during break and the cultural relevance of the message "love yourself for who you are."

Murray State University students are preparing for their 78th annual production run of Campus Lights this week.

Murray State's 77th Campus Lights features Cole Porter's musical comedy, "Anything Goes," which opens January 23, continuing through a Sunday matinee. This year's Chair is Ryan Knight, who joins Kate in the studio during Sounds Good, to preview the show. Campus Lights is one of the university's oldest traditions. It's a yearly winter musical that funds scholarships for incoming music students.
