[Update: Cancellations] Murray Shakespeare Festival 2015: "Method In Madness"

Fourth Update: The Friday, March 6 10 AM performance of Hamlet has been canceled. 

Third Update:  Per Dr. Rusty Jones: Thursday's 10 AM performance of Much Ado About Nothing and Thursday's 7 PM performance of Hamlet are canceled. Watch for updates concerning the Friday, 10 AM performance of Hamlet.

Second Update: Per Dr. Rusty Jones: Due to weather concerns, the 5-6:30 PM American Shakespeare Center workshop at Playhouse in the Park has been canceled. The Thursday, 4-5 PM lecture on Hamlet on Film by Dr. Mickey Wadia from Austin Peay is also canceled. Please watch this page for updates on the Thursday, March 5, 10 AM production of Much Ado About Nothing, the Thursday, 7 PM production of Hamlet, and the Friday, March 6, 10 AM production of Hamlet.

The American Shakespeare Center of Staunton, Virginia, will grace the Lovett Auditorium stage once again with performances of Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet, March 2-6. Hear "A Minute With Shakespeare" on WKMS weekdays leading up to the performances at 7:19 a.m., 12:19 p.m. and 4:19 p.m.

Werewolves, Cross-Dressing and a Singing Fool... Why It's Next Week's Murray Shakespeare Festival!

Next week, the American Shakespeare Festival returns to the Murray State campus to present Shakespeare's hilarious comedy Twelfth Night and John Webster's gripping tragedy The Duchess of Malfi. Check out the full festival schedule, which also includes an exciting lineup of workshops, film screenings, and stimulating scholar-led discussions at murraystate.edu/shakespeare. Festival organizers Dr. Barbara Cobb and Dr. Rusty Jones came to the studio to read some Shakespeare and talk about some of the more... interesting elements of  both featured productions.

Shakespeare in the Schools Partnership

As National Poetry Month closes we’re bringing you a glimpse into Murray Middle School classroom activities with the Shakespeare in the Schools Partnership Initiative.  It coordinates with the annual Shakespeare Festival at Murray.  Murray State faculty member Dr. Barbara Cobb brought the Bard’s sonnets to Murray Middle and is here to share a sample of student responses.
