A new report shows there were more than 7,500 cases of bullying reported in Tennessee's public schools during the 2012-13 school year.

The report was released by the state Education Department. Officials say 5,478 of the 7,555 cases were confirmed after investigation.

A northwest Tennessee teenager has started an anti-bullying movement called “Pinky Promise Against Bullying.” Carlie Vowell is a sophomore at Westview High School in Weakley County. She and friends are spreading the word that bullying is not OK through videos, radio station spots, a Facebook page, and an online pledge. Angela Hatton spoke with Vowell about the anti-bullying effort.
