KY Congressmen Look For Bipartisanship In Farm bill

Kentucky Representatives Ed Whitfield, Andy Barr and Brett Guthrie are calling on House Speaker John Boehner to assign farm bill conferees from the House of Representatives to meet with Senate conferees.

They want an across-the-aisle agreement on a new long-term farm bill.

When Congress reconvened on January 3rd, it did so with 84 newly elected members. We've been profiling a few of the newcomers over the past week. Today, we'll learn a bit more about the latest Republican to join Kentucky delegation Andy Barr. Here's Kentucky Public Radio's Kenny Colston.

Barr Urges Temporary Fix for Fiscal Cliff

Sixth District Congressman-Elect Andy Barr says he'll get serious when it comes to cutting spending as Congress deals with the so-called "fiscal cliff." Conway: Kentucky Democrats Suffer No Long-Term Damage After Ben Chandler Loss

Democratic Rep. Ben Chandler's defeat in his re-election bid Tuesday  won't  hinder the Kentucky Democratic Party in future years, a party leader said.

But Attorney General Jack Conway also said he’s upset that Kentucky will have only one Democratic congressman for the next two years -- Rep. John Yarmuth in the Third District.

Revised RNC Schedule Still Gives Kentuckians Speaking Slots

The schedule shuffling at this year’'s Republican National Convention won'’t cost any Kentucky politicians their speaking slots.

With the first day'’s events canceled due to Tropical Storm (soon to be Hurricane) Isaac, at least two Kentucky speakers were in danger of being knocked off the schedule.
