About The Show

The music on Sounds Good is a mix of legacy artists who are still making great music now (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt) deep cuts from classic artists (The Band, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, REM) great contemporary artists who don' t receive commercial airplay (Neko Case, Wilco, Jack White, Darrell Scott, The Black Keys) and those who defy the boundaries of categorization (Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck, Ry Cooder, Bill Frisell, Justin Townes Earle). You'll also get a bit of World music, Blues, Soul/R&B, Reggae and Jazz.

Additionally, you'll hear interviews with newsmakers and community leaders, live music from some of our region's best musicians, our community events calendar and more.

Puppies Sound Good: Meet Dancer

We met Dancer today, a yellow Labrador retriever mix. Last month, we meet her sister Dasher, who has since been adopted. Dancer is one of three siblings yet to be adopted. Today is her 12-week birthday. Dancer loved getting picked up and petted on by station staff. Her foster mom lives next door to kids who have done a great job socializing the litter. Dancer was a curious pup who had to stop and sniff everything on the way into the studio. Once in the studio, she sat nicely next to Kathy Hodge of the Humane Society of Calloway County.

Credit Zach Copley / Creative Commons

The virtual currency Bitcoin has been on a media rollercoaster since its introduction in 2009. Recently, the world's largest Bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox filed for bankruptcy, leaving half a billion dollars potentially gone. This news comes on the heels of the Chinese government announcing that exchanges were banned from using the Yuan. Nevertheless, Bitcoin may still be the currency of the future. Murray State's Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business faculty member Sunayan Acharya joins Kate Lochte on Sounds Good to explain the headlines and what the future may have in store for the digital currency.
