About The Show

The music on Sounds Good is a mix of legacy artists who are still making great music now (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Bonnie Raitt) deep cuts from classic artists (The Band, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, REM) great contemporary artists who don' t receive commercial airplay (Neko Case, Wilco, Jack White, Darrell Scott, The Black Keys) and those who defy the boundaries of categorization (Punch Brothers, Bela Fleck, Ry Cooder, Bill Frisell, Justin Townes Earle). You'll also get a bit of World music, Blues, Soul/R&B, Reggae and Jazz.

Additionally, you'll hear interviews with newsmakers and community leaders, live music from some of our region's best musicians, our community events calendar and more.

Columbia Club Seeks Funds to Renovate Historic Paducah Theatre

MSU Town & Gown Plays 4th of July Weekend

The Murray State University Town and Gown Community Band celebrates Independence Day weekend with a concert Saturday night at 8 in Lovett Auditorium on the MSU campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The community band is a partnership between the university and the community, welcoming musicians of all ages to play together. Red, White & Tuna and The Fabulous Fifties Show are Fourth Fare at the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers. Red, White & Tuna is the 3rd installment in the comedic series Greater Tuna, a satirical ride through the the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Texas' third smallest town. Murray Freedom Fest Kicks Off with Veterans Remembrance

Murray's annual tradition of food, fun and fireworks is back this Friday and Saturday. Festivities kick off Friday evening with a street fair featuring food, crafts, games, a beer garden, and an outdoor concert by Swamp Donkey and Margarita Beach. Vampire Novelist from Benton Debuts Final Book in Trilogy

Rebuilding West Liberty, 2 Years After Deadly Tornado

On March 2, 2012, the eastern Kentucky coal town of West Liberty was hit by an EF-3 tornado, which caused extensive damage to its downtown area, destroying homes and businesses, killing six people and injuring 75. Kids Participate in Triathlon at Noble Park

Rehab Associates in Paducah is organizing their 11th annual Mercy Pediatrics Kids Triathlon July 12, where kids between the ages of 7 and 14 compete in swimming, bicycling and running at Noble Park in Paducah in an effort to encourage youth fitness. Touring Youth Choir Performs at Murray State Tonight

Tonight at 7:30, the Summit Touring Children's Choir from Akron, Ohio will be presenting a free concert in the Performing Arts Hall (Old Fine Arts Building) at Murray State University. The choir is made of students from 2nd-10th grade. Dr. Amy Aucoin, Associate Professor of Music, stops by Sounds Good to preview the concert.
