A search to find the next president of West Kentucky Community and Technical College is about to start. WKCTC’s founding president Barbara Veazey is retiring June 30th after 14 years at the helm.

Jay Box, President of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, will meet with the college’s board, faculty and staff members before beginning a national search. Box says the search will be conducted with assistance from a consultant with inputs from faculty, staff and students and the surrounding community.

The WKCTC Board of Directors is to recommend one of three candidates from a pool of 8-10 applicants provided by the KCTCS president, who has the authority to make the final appointment.

Box says those finalists will be announced by the end of July, on-site interviews will occur in August with hopes of having the selected president start the new role October 1st.

Rob Canning is a native of Murray, KY, a 2015 TV Production grad of Murray State. At MSU, he served as team captain of the Murray State Rowing Club.
