The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is awarding nine counties across the region almost $3 million for asphalt rehabilitation projects. The funding progresses a number of road paving projects, including a section of U.S. 45 in Fulton County and U.S. 62 in Hopkins County. In all, nearly 60 asphalt rehab contracts were awarded throughout the state in April, totaling more than $27 million.
Details of regional projects are below:
Ballard County – A 3.3-mile section of KY 121 (Mayfield Road) from Shelton Creek Bridge to U.S. 51. Jim Smith Contracting Company LLC was awarded the contract for $418,919. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Caldwell County – A 1-mile section of U.S. 62/West Main Street – West Market Street from Centennial Drive to KY 293. Rogers Group Inc. was awarded the contract for $479,397. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Crittenden County – A 1-mile section of U.S. 60 (Salem-Marion Road) from the Livingston County line to 280 feet west of Davenport Mines Road. Rogers Group Inc. was awarded the contract for $106,450. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Fulton County – Two sections of roadway including a 0.79-mile section of U.S. 45 (Highland Drive) from the Tennessee state line to KY 1648 and a 0.9-mile section of KY 125 (Union City Highway) from KY 1099 to KY 94. Murray Paving Inc. was awarded the contract for $262,642. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Graves County – A 0.9-mile section of Mayfield-Paducah Road (northbound and southbound) from West Walnut Street to East James Street (omitting mile point 17.152 to 17.219). Jim Smith Company LLC was awarded the contract for $382,704. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Hickman County – Two sections of roadway including a 2.2-mile section of KY 123 (Clay Street) from KY 58 to KY 239 and a 0.36-mile section of KY 1826 (Depot Street) from Blair Street to U.S. 51. Murray Paving Inc. was awarded the contract for $327,416. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Hopkins County – Two sections of roadway including a 1.2-mile section of U.S. 62 (Arcadia Avenue) from the Caldwell County line to Holmes Street and a 1.57-mile section of KY 1178 (West Noel Avenue) from U.S. 41A to Murray Street. Road Builders LLC was awarded the contract for $405,222. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
McCracken County – A half-mile section of KY 731/32nd Street from U.S. 45 to Buckner Lane. Jim Smith Contracting LLC was awarded the project for $202,025. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
Union County – Two sections of roadway including a 0.36-mile section of KY 130 (Morganfield-Uniontown Road) from KY 360 to the end of the state maintenance and a 3-mile section of KY 666 (Uniontown-Morganfield Road) from KY 360 to KY 130. Rogers Group Inc. was awarded the contract for $254,145. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2013.
