West Ky School Districts in Top 100 of Niche Rankings

Niche.com, an education survey group, has released its 2015 rankings of the best K-12 Schools in the nation and the state, several of the school are in our listening area. 

The rankings are based off student and parent-submitted surveys and measure how well students are satisfied with their overall school experience. That experience includes academics, safety, extracurricular involvement, teacher and facility quality and available learning resources.

The rankings are listed nationally and on a state-by-state basis. 

The site says "A high ranking indicates that the district contains great schools with exceptional teachers, sufficient resources, and a diverse set of high-achieving students who rate their experiences very highly." 

Of the 202 high schools in the Commonwealth, Murray High School ranks at number 17, Paducah-Tilghman at 24, and Marshall County at 39.  Other schools in our area in the top 100 include

  • Marshall County High School - 39th
  • Mayfield High School - 69th
  • Calloway County High School - 75th
  • Graves County High School - 76th
  • Hopkins County High School - 77th
  • Dawson Springs Junior/Senior High School - 85th
  • Trigg County High School - 94th
  • Christian County High School - 100th

Kentucky has 174 public school districts, nine districts in our area rank among the top 50 with Murray Independent Schools at number 5, Marshall County at 15th, Paducah Independent at 20th, Lyon County Schools at 27th and Graves at 29th. The whole list of districts in the top 100 include
