Teenage Girl Shot at Gathering in Livingston Co. Has Died from Injuries

Update: The teenage girl who was shot at a gathering in Livingston County on Saturday has died from her injuries. Kentucky State Police said 15-year-old Peyton Hurt of Boaz was pronounced deceased Sunday night at Baptist Health in Paducah. 

KSP will seek to change the 1st Degree Assault charge on Tyler Jones to Murder during his arraignment.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on a first degree assault charge and a 15-year-old girl is on life support following a shooting at a gathering in Livingston County. 

Kentucky State Police said in a release on Sunday they received a call at 8:29 p.m. on Saturday of a shooting in Ledbetter.

A 15-year-old female sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Paducah where she is on life support. No other injuries were reported.

Detectives charged 19-year-old Tyler Jones of Ledbetter with 1st Degree Assault. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

20-year-old Alexis Johnson of Paducah was arrested and was charged with hindering apprehension. She was also lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

KSP is continuing an investigation.
