A tech development startup is establishing a headquarters in Louisville creating 250 jobs.

Governor Matt Bevin and mayor Greg Fischer said in a release Thursday that Interapt LLC is investing nearly 3.7 million dollars in the project.

Interapt is renovating a 22,000 square-foot manufacturing and warehouse facility near downtown. The company develops mobile, web and tech wearable applications for businesses. Customers have included Baptist Healthcare, Humana, YUM! Brands and General Electric. Interapt was founded in 2009.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved Interapt for more than two million dollars in tax incentives for the project.

He's served in a variety of roles over the years: as News Director March 2016-September 2019 and previously as the New Media & Promotions Coordinator beginning in 2011. Prior to that, he was a graduate and undergraduate assistant. He is currently the host of the international music show Imported on Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
