Tammy Thompson of McCracken County is the new board secretary to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents.
Thompson is the public relations coordinator at West Kentucky Community and Technical College in Paducah. She was elected to the new position Friday.
In 2015, KCTCS staff members elected Thompson to serve as a staff representative of the KCTCS Board, during a special election to fill four vacant board positions.
Thompson has worked at WKCTC since 1993. She has an associate degree from Paducah Community College, now WKCTC, and a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University.
She fills the vacancy created by Regent Betsy Flynn's term expiration last September. Thompson's term is through June 30, 2017.
The next KCTCS Board of Regents meeting is March 10.
