Robberies Update

By Carrie Pond

Murray, KY – The Murray Police Department has issued a warrant for the arrest an Illinois man suspected in recent burglaries. Officers will charge Terrance Silas with burglarizing Vernon's Pawn Shop, Harlan Automotive and the Veterinary Medical Center. Police Chief Ken Claude says investigators believe Silas is from the St. Louis area but had been staying with a friend in Murray for several weeks. Investigators interviewed Silas Sunday after discovering stolen property in some of the burglaries. Claude says officers plan to charge Silas in additional robberies, but he is not believed to be connected to all 27. He says officers are following up on additional leads. Since March 23rd, 27 businesses and churches have been burglarized, including 12 over the weekend.
