Reward Offered in Bardwell Fire Inquiry
By Todd Hatton
Bardwell city officials are offering a $2,000 dollar reward for information about a suspicious downtown weekend fire. The blaze occurred late Saturday night, burning down four abandoned buildings along Front Street and damaging others. 80 firefighters from eight rural cities responded to the fire. Bardwell Mayor Philip King says the blaze is suspicious because the buildings had no utilities connected. The state fire marshal’s office is investigating, but has not yet determined the cause. Anyone with information can contact Bardwell City Hall at 270-628-5415 or the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Department at 270-628-3377.
