Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has asked top leaders in the General Assembly to meet ahead of the veto session next week.

The Republican governor sent the request Thursday, asking the leaders to meet in Chicago or Springfield.
The veto session starts Tuesday.
State legislators head into the veto session with hopes of coming to an agreement on a full state budget and pension reform. The state is operating on a temporary budget approved in July.
The leaders include Democratic Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan and Illinois House Republican leader Jim Durkin.  Democrat John Cullerton is president of the Illinois Senate and the Republican Illinois Senate leader is Christine Radogno.
Radogno says a meeting is the "prime opportunity" to discuss "comprehensive solutions."
