Rand on Target

By KPR

Frankfort, KY – The House Appropriations and Revenue Committee last night approved a revised six-year road plan and new budget for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The bills now move to the House floor. Chairman Rick Rand says the transportation budget includes some bonded projects designed to put people back to work.

"This is part of our overall Kentucky Jobs for Kentucky Families. It's part of that, but this is considered separately, because the transportation funding streams are separate. So, it's considered separate. But it is part of our overall goal to put people to work."

Today, the committee takes up the 17-billion dollar biennial state budget. Hearings on various aspects of the spending plan will consume most of the day, with a committee vote planned for tonight. A House floor vote on the budget is expected tomorrow.
