The Murray State University men’s basketball team won its 24th game in a row over the weekend, a new Ohio Valley Conference record.
The Racers defeated the University of Tennessee at Martin 73-67 to finish off a perfect OVC regular season, only the fifth time in the conference's history a team has run the table. The team's 24-game winning streak is still the second longest active streak in the nation, behind only the undefeated Kentucky Wildcats.
MSU now enjoys the top seed and a double-bye in the OVC tournament. The Racers will play a semifinal match-up this Friday at Nashville's Municipal Auditorium against UT Martin, Southeast Missouri State or Morehead State. That game will tip at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
