Racers Crush Tulsa on the Road, Advance to NIT Quarterfinals

The Murray State University men’s basketball team  beat the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane 83-62 on the road Monday night in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament.

The Racers now travel to Norfolk, Va. to take on the Old Dominion Monarchs Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The game tips at 6 p.m. CST and will be televised on ESPN2.

If the Racers beat ODU, they will punch a ticket to the NIT semifinals at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Meanwhile, Murray State coach Steve Prohm was named Monday as one of 16 finalists for the 2015 Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award. The winner will be announced April 3 in Indianapolis.
