The Murray State University men’s basketball team won a first round game in the National Invitation Tournament Tuesday night when they beat the University of Texas at El Paso 81-66.
The Racers will travel Monday to Tulsa, Okla. to take on the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a second round game. The tip-off time and television channel for that match-up will be announced soon. Tulsa defeated William & Mary Tuesday night 70-67.
Last night’s win was the 15th straight home win for the racers and the first NIT victory since beating Alabama under head coach Ron Greene in 1980.
