Murray, KY – Last night's Racer basketball win over South Eastern Missouri State clenched the OVC championship and received national attention. Freshman Isaiah Canaan made a half-court shot from his knees seconds before the shot clock ran out and may be college basketball shot of the year. This morning ESPN2 anchors interviewed Canaan about his shot and he admitted there was luck involved.
"Me and the guys, we always mess around at practice all the time. We ain't never took it so far as getting on our knees and doing something crazy, but we always shoot crazy shots like that before practice and after practice just messing around."
Racers beat SEMO 80-68 last night, clenching their 21st OVC championship. They play Morgan State on Saturday in the bracket buster which will air on ESPNU.
