Paducah Power System, West Kentucky Allied Services Offering Assistance with Energy Bills

Security Net (securitynet.org)

The Paducah Power System and West Kentucky Allied Services have teamed up to help people struggling to pay their energy bills this winter.

PPS General Manager Mark Crisson says the “Round Up” program allows PPS customers to round their bills up to the next whole dollar amount.

“That goes into a fund that we are seeding with $10,000 to provide additional funds to be administered by Western Kentucky Allied to customers that need the relief the most,” Crisson said.

Crisson says he hopes the fund helps customers as the PPS transitions toward a financial plan next summer that looks to lower rates significantly.

The company’s customers are currently paying some of the highest electric bills in the state.

In addition to Round Up, the company’s also offering free home energy efficiency audits.

They’ll also cover the first one hundred dollars of recommended items that customers purchase after those audits. This includes things like insulation or new windows.

For more information on the Roundup program, call your local WKAS office.
