Paducah Economic Development Eliminates Two Staff Members as Part of Reorganization

Paducah Economic Development

The new Paducah Economic Development CEO is making several staffing changes.

CEO Scott Darnell began his post in mid-September after Chad Chancellor left to begin his own economic development agency.

Darnell confirms EntrePaducah Director Chuck Sexton and Sales and Marketing Director Mallory Panuska have left while Vice President Charlie Martin and PACRO assistant director Mariam Miller are staying on until December 31st

Darnell says he informed the board of directors but the staffing changes are ultimately his decision.

"The board knew changes would be taking place when they hired me," said Darnell. "But at the end of the day that’s the function the board leaves to me as to how to we staff and how we allocate our resources. We’re looking doing at a more diversified model. We’re going to be making some various changes and some of those changes were positions being eliminated.”

Martin had already announced his end-of-the-year retirement last month.

Only current Chief Financial Officer Nora Rikel stays on amidst the new staffing.

Darnell is currently studying an approach to re-staffing including the possibility of at least one position being outsourced.
