A national research and evaluation firm has awarded the City of Paducah the 2017 Voice of the People Award for Transformation in Recreation and Wellness.
The National Research Center and the International City and County Management Association presented the award Monday at the Celebration of Service Reception in San Antonio, Texas.
The award is based on survey responses from Paducah residents in 2013 and in 2016. The NRC National Citizen Survey gathered opinions on community issues.
The city reported the highest levels of improvement in Recreation and Wellness and a five percent increase in the Quality of Life rating.
