Owensboro Airport to Get Federal Grant

Wikimedia Commons

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded the Owensboro-Daviess County Airport one million dollars to fund the completion of two major projects.  The grant will cover 90 percent of the overall cost of relocating a beacon to improve visibility and to the final phase of terminal building improvements. The state Department of Aviation and the county airport board will each pay 5 percent of the remaining cost.  In announcing the grant, Governor Steve Beshear says the money will help the airport continue to provide vital connections and keep the Commonwealth economically competitive.

Todd Hatton hails from Paducah, Kentucky, where he got into radio under the auspices of the late, great John Stewart of WKYX while a student at Paducah Community College. He also worked at WKMS in the reel-to-reel tape days of the early 1990s before running off first to San Francisco, then Orlando in search of something to do when he grew up. He received his MFA in Creative Writing at Murray State University. He vigorously resists adulthood and watches his wife, Angela Hatton, save the world one plastic bottle at a time.
