Oscar Cross Boys & Girls Club Director Resigns

Just months after closing one of its two facilities amid financial consolidation efforts, the Oscar Cross Boys and Girls Club of Paducah has begun a search for its next leader.

OCBGC Board of Directors President Todd Faulkner says former director Don Dorris has resigned to pursue other opportunities after five months on the job.

The nonprofit shut down its midtown location in June after it was deemed structurally unsafe for visiting children.

A club press release describes the situation as a "necessary transition."

"Part of this transition and refocus comes after lengthy conversation and heartfelt discussion among members of the OCBGC Board of Directors," the release reads. "After meticulous evaluation and careful consideration the Board has collectively decided there is a need for new leadership."

Faulkner says the Board hopes to name a new director by the start of next year.
