Oak Grove, KY – Oak Grove, Kentucky could get an off-track horse betting establishment in its planned shopping mall. Mayor Dan Potter last week said the issue had dead ended, but now says he plans to hold a public hearing in the next few weeks. The facility would be part of Franklin-based Kentucky Downs. Potter says some residents have expressed concern over a wagering facility being within the city limits and wants the issue to be discussed and decided democratically. Oak Grove First Baptist Church Reverend Todd Gray tells the Kentucky New Era he doesn't think such a facility would be good for the military families.
