NPR's Noah Adams on Reporting Philosophy and His Trip to Paducah

NPR

NPR’s Noah Adams has been reporting news on public radio, or hosting public radio programs for nearly 40 years. The Eastern Kentucky Native is now a correspondent for NPR’s national desk reporting mostly on changing communities.

Adams spent a few days last week in Lowertown Paducah learning about the arts district’s comeback and how it could help spur a comeback of sorts for downtown Paducah.

Adams spoke with Chad Lampe about the story his reporting style and his role models. Adams also talks about writing one of his many books, and (for you die-hard Noah Adams fans) yes, he still plays the piano.

It’s unclear when Adams’ story on Lowertown will air. We’ll do our best to let you know.

Chad Lampe, a Poplar Bluff, Missouri native, was raised on radio. He credits his father, a broadcast engineer, for his technical knowledge, and his mother for the gift of gab. At ten years old he broke all bonds of the FCC and built his own one watt pirate radio station. His childhood afternoons were spent playing music and interviewing classmates for all his friends to hear. At fourteen he began working for the local radio stations, until he graduated high school. He earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Murray State, and a Masters Degree in Mass Communication. In November, 2011, Chad was named Station Manager in 2016.
