The new Eggner’s Ferry Bridge connecting Marshall and Trigg counties is set to fully open to four-lane traffic by the end of next week.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says before the two eastbound lanes open, visitors will be able to walk onto and tour the $133 million dollar bridge. Two-lane traffic will continue during the event. Todd says the bridge’s pedestrian and cyclist pathway will open at a later date.
“We think it’ll be another 6-8 weeks before they get all the trail connections completed, and so we will probably do another tourist-oriented event for that opening," Todd said.
The four-lane opening is tentatively set for Wednesday, August 31.
