Murray's "Main Street Merriment" Kicks off Tomorrow

Murray Convention and Visitors Bureau

Tomorrow, Murray Main Street kicks off its Main Street Merriment festivities from 5 to 8 p.m. Executive Director Deana Wright visits Sounds Good and says she's planned some familiar events along with some new ones sure to help bring Christmas to the city. Here's a rundown of festivities:

Some of the festivities include:

  • Candy Cane Lane between Fourth and Third Streets
  • Christmas on the Square
  • Dickens' Alley between Fifth and Fourth Streets
  • Visits with Santa
  • A tree-decorating contest
  • The lighting of the town Christmas tree at the Calloway County Courthouse
  • Live holiday music at the Robert O. Miller Conference Center

Wright says she's hoping Main Street Merriment helps bring a more cheerful close to a year with several downtown incidents that left some buildings destroyed.

For more information about the events, check out Main Street Murray's website or call (270) 759-9474.
