Murray State Professor Receives Carnegie Fellowship to Uganda

Dr. Bellarmine Ezumah is a recipient of the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship, part of the Scholar Exchanges Division of the Institute of International Education (IIE). 

She will spend 90 days at the Uganda Martyrs University in Kampala, Uganda, developing a new communication program that focuses on pastoral communication, as well as the more traditional sequences of journalism, advertising, public relations and broadcast.

Ezumah will equally assist in recruiting and mentoring faculty for this new program.

Ezumah is an associate professor of communication and media studies with the department of journalism and mass communications through the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business at Murray State University.

Eddie Sheridan comes to WKMS after spending nearly 10 years in non-profit radio. He holds an undergraduate degree in English/Professional Writing and is currently attending Murray State University to obtain a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health/Counseling. He has worked in print journalism as a reporter for the Murray Ledger & Times newspaper and has performed freelance writing for publications such as The Lane Report magazine in Lexington.
