Murray State point guard Cameron Payne has been named the 2014-2015 Ohio Valley Conference Male Athlete of the Year. The sophomore was chosen in voting by OVC athletics directors and sports information directors. Payne is the ninth Murray State student athlete to win the honor since 1980 and the first since Isaiah Canaan was named in 2012. The Memphis, Tennessee native averaged over 20 points and 6 assists per game, helping the Racers to the nation’s second-longest winning streak and their 24th regular season championship. Payne will be honored at a ceremony in Nashville on May 29th.
