Murray, KY – The Murray Police Department is advising residents about a recent phone scam in the area. A local business received a phone call from someone who claimed to be a deputy sheriff. The caller said an employee had been arrested in Murray, and told the business to wire 800 dollars through Western Union to Orlando, FL for the employee's bail. Officers urge any residents who receive similar calls to refrain from wiring money and contact the police immediately.
