via moreheadstate.edu

Morehead State University has hired a new president to take over the office in July.

The school's Board of Regents announced Wednesday it was hiring 45-year-old Joseph A. Morgan, who is currently the chief academic officer and vice president for academic affairs and student success for the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.

Morgan will succeed Wayne D. Andrews, who has led the school since 2005. He announced last year he would retire June 30. Morgan previously worked at Murray State University in roles including provost and vice president for academic affairs and is a former high school teacher and coach.

Morgan will be the university's 14th president. The university said in a news release that his contract is for a four-year term, beginning July 1.
