Medicaid Forums Allow Kentuckians to Voice Concerns on Proposed Changes

kentuckyvoicesforhealth

A collective of Kentucky health care advocates is holding a series of forums to get feedback on changes to Medicaid.

The Keep Kentucky Covered coalition stops in 8 cities statewide including Paducah.

The coalition consists of Kentucky Voices for Health, the Kentucky Equal Justice Center and the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy.

The forums are part of the 30-day federal comment period for Gov. Matt Bevin’s proposed Medicaid waiver program, known as Kentucky HEALTH.

Comments can still be submitted through the web portal until October 8th.

All adults under 65 with insurance through the program will be affected. Some of the changes include a drop of dental and vision coverage, required premiums, co-pays and service hours for able-bodied adults and waivers for non-emergency medical transportation.

Each event consists of a brief presentation of the changes followed by a comment period. The meetings also extend participants the opportunity to register to vote.

The Paducah forum is Tuesday night at 6:30 at the McCracken Public Library.
