Metropolis, IL – Massac County, Illinois is without an emergency response director, after its long-time official died this week. 84-year-old O.D. Troutman ran the emergency coordinator post for nearly 25 years. His funeral was yesterday. Massac County Commission Chairman Jayson Farmer says a search for a new director will begin immediately. Farmer says the right person for the job will have emergency accreditation, experience, and networking skills. Commissioners hope to have a serious candidate within the next month and a half.
