Makeup Days Push High School Graduation Dates Back

By Chris Taylor

Paducah, KY – McCracken County students will now be in school until May 25 to make up the four days lost to ice and snow. The board of education revised the calendar yesterday. McCracken Schools Pupil Director Russ Tilford tells the Paducah Sun the board could extend school hours like it did last year to make up the two weeks lost to the ice storm. He says that required special state legislation. The changes also affect graduation dates: Reidland High School's commencement is now set for May 28th, while Lone Oak and Heath High Schools will graduate the following day.
