Frankfort, KY – Newly released statistics indicate students are benefiting from Kentucky's lottery. The Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority reports college students in Western Kentucky received around 41-million dollars in lottery scholarships and grants in fiscal year 2009. KHEAA CEO Edward Cunningham says statewide close to 184 million dollars in proceeds paid for scholarships. Edwards says 95-percent of the overall financial aid offered on the state level comes from the lottery.
