Local Baptist Health Hospitals Experience Job Cuts

BAPTIST HEALTH PADUCAH, FACEBOOK

Baptist Health is eliminating 288 job across their system including cuts in the Paducah and Madisonville branches.

Madisonville Baptist Health Spokeswoman Kristy Quinn said 26 positions will be affected and Baptist Health Paducah Marketing and Public Relations Assistant Angie Timmons said 30 employees will be affected. Timmons said the Paducah employees are primarily from the Transitional Care Unit, which is temporarily suspended due to low census. Baptist Health Public Relations Manager Kit Fullenlove said the reductions are a result of  transformation in the healthcare industry.

“Well this is a time of great uncertainty in healthcare. It’s a very turbulent time and we were just realigning our business,” Fullenlove said.

Fullenlove said employees will be offered severance and outplacement job assistance. Timmons said local nursing homes can provide care for TCU patients and employees affected by the cuts can apply for other open positions in the hospital.
