Little River Days Fest Rebranded, Moved to August Ahead of 2017 Solar Eclipse

Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation

Hopkinsville city officials are rebranding the annual Little River Days Festival and moving it from May to August.

Now known as the Summer Salute Festival, the event’s move to the end of summer aligns with 2017’s total solar eclipse, expected to draw thousands of tourists to the prime viewing location in Hopkinsville.

Jennie Stuart Health has signed on for a multiyear sponsorship deal for the festival.

The inaugural Summer Salute Festival is set for August 26-27 this year. The eclipse is happening August 21, 2017. Officials have already announced plans to expand Summer Salute to a three-day festival in 2017 to capitalize on the eclipse.
