Lawmakers Reconvene For Last Two Days Of Session

Kentucky lawmakers will reconvene at noon today to finish out the last two days of this year's legislative session. They face a stack of unfinished bills. Proposals include a measure to reform the state's underfunded pension system and legislation to legalize hemp farming. Lawmakers also could try to override a gubernatorial veto. Citing concerns about civil rights protections, Governor Steve Beshear shot down a bill to better protect in court people who claim the government infringes their religious freedom. The Senate said it's prepared to override while the House is discussing what it will do. Other bills include one to allow military members serving overseas to vote via email. The Democratic-led House also is trying pass its redistricting plan, which pits Republican against Republican in several districts
